Biography
Romeo Rojas is the Secretary General of the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre (VanIAC).
Prior to joining VanIAC, Romeo served in the Canadian Foreign Service as a Trade Commissioner. He practised law at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade’s Trade Law Bureau in Ottawa, as well as at Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP and Bennett Jones LLP in Calgary. He subsequently established an independent arbitration practice and served as a member of Alberta’s Land and Property Rights Tribunal, before joining VanIAC in early 2025.
Romeo holds a B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Alberta, a J.D. from the University of British Columbia, and an LL.M. from the University of Calgary, where he regularly teaches as a sessional instructor.
